It is important to note that your patch only reveals its full potential once it is perfectly heat-sealed to the garment's fabric. In its raw state, the patch is a passive technical material. It is the heat from your iron that will seal the patch and prepare its surface to interact with infrared rays.

How does the magic happen?

• Iron application: Follow our installation guide (See installation guide).
• Thermal fusion: Heat allows the patch to become integral with the fabric for optimal reflection.
• Nighttime revelation: Only after this step is complete, when your baby wears their garment under the baby monitor's lens, the pattern will literally shine on your baby monitor screen.

A little tip: Do not test visibility before ironing. It is the perfect adhesion that ensures the signal returned to your monitor will be clear, powerful, and without interference.

Successful installation

Applying the patch is simple. Following these steps is essential not only to protect your iron and fabric, but most importantly to ensure perfect adhesion. Correct application ensures the longevity of your ZuZuPatch, which will remain intact even after numerous washes.

1. Identify the protective side

Each patch has a "color" side and a "technical" side (lighter).

• Garment Side: Place the more colorful side (Black, Dark Grey, or Pure White) directly against the fabric.
• Iron Side: This is the light grey / off-white side that should face you.

2. Iron protection

The patch has its own integrated protective film and can be applied directly. However, if you are using a very old iron, we recommend using a sheet of parchment paper (baking paper) between the iron and the patch for safety, to protect your soleplate.

3. Application and finishing

• Set your iron to Cotton (no steam).
• The important step: Do not leave the iron stationary. Make small circular movements while pressing firmly for 15 to 20 seconds. This helps to secure the patch properly while avoiding burn marks or the shape of the soleplate on the garment.
• The crucial step: Once finished, wait a few seconds until it is still warm, then gently peel off the protective film (the light / off-white side).

Your patch is now perfectly integrated into the fabric and ready to shine on screen!

⚠️ Important reminder

If you place the light / off-white side against the fabric, the patch will not stick and you risk damaging your iron. Always take a second to check: the lightest / off-white side always faces the iron!

For optimal visibility on your screen, attach the ZuZuPatch to the upper abdomen, just below the rib cage. This is where the baby's natural breathing movement is most ample and easiest to track visually.

Optimize Your View

To transform your baby monitor into a true visual breathing monitor, the viewing angle is key. Here's how to get the clearest possible signal on your screen.

1. The Perfect Angle: The Top-Down View

Ideally, place the camera slightly above the crib, angled downwards.

• Why? This "three-quarter" view allows you to see both the surface of the patch and its relief as it moves up and down. If the camera is too flat on the side, the crib rails might obscure the signal.

2. The Ideal Distance

Place your camera approximately 1.5m to 2m from the baby.

• Tip: The closer the camera, the larger the patch will appear on the screen, but beware of the "halo" effect. Find the right balance so that the point remains sharp and well-defined against the gray background of night vision.

3. Avoid Visual Obstacles

Ensure that no crib bumper, comforter, or crib bar obstructs the line of sight between the lens and the ZuZuPatch.

• Simple Test: Once the patch is placed on the pajamas, check on your screen that you see the entire patch, without any parasitic reflections from another light source.

💡 The "Sleep Expert" Tip

If you have a remotely adjustable camera, place it at the foot of the baby, oriented towards their belly. This angle provides the clearest and easiest-to-follow "back-and-forth" movement of the patch.

Unlike traditional glow-in-the-dark patches that emit a constant glow that can disturb your child's rest, ZuZuPatches respect their natural sleep cycle.

Understated appearance during the day: To the naked eye, the patches are elegantly and discreetly white or grey, blending perfectly into the room's decor.

Zero light pollution: In the dark, they remain completely neutral to the human eye. Your baby enjoys a night in complete darkness, without any visual distraction.

"Night Vision" technology: The secret? They only activate under the eye of technology. It is only through your baby monitor screen (infrared) or by using your phone's flash (video mode) that the patch reveals its intense white glow.

ZuZuPatch is designed for everyday baby textiles. This wave-free and electronic-free material is compatible with:

• 100% Cotton (bodysuits, pajamas, rompers...)
• 100% Polyester (sleeping bags,...)
• Cotton/Polyester blends

The ZuZuPatch is a durable solution, designed to stay perfectly in place on most baby pajamas and clothes.

⚠️ Incompatible materials:
Do not apply on nylon, leather, water-repellent (waterproofed) or sublimated (sublimation prints) fabrics. On these materials, the patch may peel off.

Hygiene & Durability

ZuZuPatch is designed to last. Thanks to its certified professional quality, it withstands the intense life cycles of baby clothes while retaining its shine.

To ensure maximum durability of your ZuZuPatch, please read these few instructions:

• High-temperature washing: For perfect hygiene, ZuZuPatch is machine washable up to 60°C. Always wash the garment inside out to protect the reflective surface.
• Drying: Tumble dryer friendly (moderate / delicate cycle).
• First use: It is imperative to wait 24 hours after application before the first wash. This allows the adhesive to fully bond with the fibers.
• Ironing: Never iron directly on the patch. Always iron your garment inside out.
• Precautions: Avoid using bleach or aggressive bleaching agents which could dull the patch's shine.
